Book pages 11-12

I have chosen an Opossum as my next animal to put into the book of drawings, I have used mainly pencil and little ink on this page. The ink is very bright so i have used little of it to draw attention to the hole page.
I have included an Opossum in my book as these animals have an extraordinary talent which makes them immune to almost all decease.

Opossums can have as many as 20 babies and the female will carry her young in her pouch, usually half of these babies will survive. Opossums are omnivores and are quite like rats, the scavenge and often come into peoples homes and populated areas to steal food.

When threatened an opossum will play dead and stiffen its body to appear dead. This is very convincing to animals and most times will convince predators to leave the 'corps' alone.

Opossums can neutralise all snake poisons. They also can climb trees very well, they can do this as they have thumbs and sharp claws. Opossums can also carry things with there tails!
